Risk assessment control measures

Risk assessment control measures – The list with control measures to prevent Health and Safety incidents from happening can be endless. But some of the measures apply to almost every preventative system.

From a legal point of view, it is important that all employees are issued with an Appointment Letter. Such letter will stipulate exactly what they are expected to do and what responsibilities they have. It is, furthermore, important to have a clear and proper way of communicating both verbal and in writing. The clearer the instructions and warnings, the easier and safer it will be in the workplace.

Protective clothing is another one of those measures that can hardly be underestimated. Be it safety shoes, face protection or hardhats; a small investment made can go a long way to prevent the employees.

The introduction from barriers is another one of those measures that can make a useful contribution. Accidents occur when you expect them the least. Putting a simple barrier in place can be the difference between a final warning and a fatal blow.

But regardless what it is for, or how much you do; providing training and employing certified employees should top each list, as is the 'use of common sense'. The latter can't be described or defined; that depends on the caliber of staff that is employed.
