MAKROSAFE will be included in National Learners Record Database (NLRD)

MAKROSAFE graduates to be included in National Learners Record Database (NLRD) -As of 1 January 2005, learners who pass either the MAKROSAFE Health & Safety Representative or the MAKROSAFE OHS Act for Management course will be considered as fully qualified and as such, be registered on the National Learners Record Database.

The National Learners Record Database (NLRD) is South Africa's sole register for successful graduates. Learners attending the Health & Safety Representative or the OHS Act for Management courses at MAKROSAFE will be registered when they submit a Portfolio of Evidence within four weeks of passing their exams.

The Portfolio of Evidence is considered to be a candidate's 'Track Record' displaying competency against specific outcomes and assessment criteria. It will also show that the learner has put the knowledge, which was obtained by attending the course, into practice in the workplace.

The course's content focuses on making learners become competent and is offered in a one-day workshop. The content is aligned to the latest and relevant unit standards and in accordance to the requirements set by the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWSETA).

Submitting the portfolio is not compulsory. However, learners opting for only attending the workshop will be issued with a certificate of attendance that is valid for 12 months, whereas the graduation certificate will be valid forever.

MAKROSAFE offers various workshops and courses to cater for health and safety officials who are in need of in-depth training to enhance their personal skills and knowledge, as well as, courses and workshops which are legally compulsory as is stated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Certification of leaners attending the MAKROSAFE Training for fire fighting and incident investigation will only be valid for 1 year. These professionals are expected to always stay on top of their game and, as such, have to go for training annually. This will ensure that learners will be trained and informed in line with the latest knowledge and legislation valid at that time when they attend another workshop at MAKROSAFE the following year.

All MAKROSAFE workshops and courses aim to empower learners and establish competency to ensure they can perform and excel well when doing their duties. MAKROSAFE achieves this by balancing theory and practical knowledge and by appointing experienced and well-vetted assessors.

MAKROSAFE is a registered training provider and all their educational training material has been scrutinised and approved by the HWSETA.

Leaners keen to participate in either of these workshops or courses can begin to enrol for 2015. Are you still left with some unanswered questions? Contact us and we will gladly answer them for you.
