First Aid Training -Level 3

•  Explaining the principles of advanced First Aid emergencies.
•  Demonstrating an advanced level of prepardness to deal with sudden illness or emergency.
•  Assessing and managing an emergency scene / disaster.
•  Describing the anatomy and explaining the physiology of the human body systems in terms of injury or sudden illness.
•  Applying primary first aid for all age groups according to accepted current an advanced level aid protocols.
•  Explaining and managing shock.

This unit standard is to enable the first responder to react to emergencies at an advanced first aid level, until the arrival of more professional emergency personnel.

•  Explain the principles of advanced first aid in emergencies.
•  Demonstrate an advanced level of prepardness to deal with sudden illness or emergencies.
•  Assess and manage an emergency scene / disaster.
•  Describe the anatomy and explain the physiology of the human body systems in terms of injury and sudden illness.
•  Apply primary first aid life support for adults , children and infants according to accepted protocols.
•  Explain the causes of shock and the emergency treatment thereof.

The programme methodology includes facilitator presentations, readings, individual activities, group discussions and skill application exercises. Know what you want to get out of the programme from the beginning and start applying your new skills immediately. Participate as much as possible so that it will be interactive and stimulating.
