Access Control at Main Gate

  • Access control is a process, in which several measures are applied to ensure that any object or person requiring access to premises are:
    • Safe
    • Has a reasonable reason to enter
    • Is entitled and authorized thereto
    Access control at the main gate will ensure that the company and it’s employees will not be exposed to danger or to breaches of security during the presence of such a person or due to him/her gaining access.
  • Distribution Board
    A distribution board, also known as a panelboard or breaker panel, is a component of an electricity supply system that divides an electrical power feed into subsidiary circuits, while providing a protective fuse or circuit breaker for each circuit in a common enclosure.
    Distribution boards must be kept closed and locked at all times. All circuits must be numbered and named so that they may be easily identified. Only an Electrical Competent Person may work on a distribution board / electrical circuits.
  • Forklift
    A forklift, also called a lift truck, a fork truck, or a forklift truck, is a powered industrial truck used to lift and move materials for short distances.
    Some pre-operational safety checks include:
    • Checking oil levels
    • Radiator - check coolant level
    • Tyres - check inflation and condition
    • Lights, horn and reversing beeper - check operation
  • Hand Tools
    A hand tool is any tool that is not a power tool, that is, one powered by hand (manual labour) rather than by an engine. Some examples of hand tools are garden forks, secateurs, rakes, hammers, spanners, pliers, screwdrivers and chisels. Hand tools are generally less dangerous than power tools.
