Introduction to Forklift Training

Operating a forklift has been aligned to registered unit standards.  You will be assessed against the outcomes of the unit standards by completing a knowledge assignment that covers the essential embedded knowledge stipulated in the unit standards, and by compiling a portfolio of evidence that provides proof of your ability to apply the learning to your work situation.

Forklift

Persons credited with this Unit Standard are able to operate a counter-balanced lift truck in a safe manner.

They will also be able to conduct pre and post inspections to ensure the performance of the lift truck to handle the loading and storage of freight by using the equipment and its accessories in the required manner. They will also be able to access emergency systems and services in the event of an incident or accident.

Who must complete the Forklift Training

This course is targeted at employees with responsibilities for functions within the workplace that relate to operating forklifts.

Forklift Stacking and Storing

Require knowledge and skills to enable you to operate and work with a Forklift in the safest and most competent way possible.

Provide you with the required knowledge on the principles the machine works on.

To help you understand the different methods of handling and storing of freight.

Operate equipment in accordance with laid down organizational and legislative standards and procedures as well as manufacturers guidelines.

Pre-check and operational checks, operating, shutting down and parking of the counterbalance lift truck. Available support systems and emergency services in case of incidents and accidents.

What is the minimum candidates that can attend the forklift training course per group?
A minimum of 2 candidates can attend per group.

What is the maximum candidates that can attend the forklift training course per group?
A maximum of 4 candidates can attend forklift training.

Where does forklift license training take place?
Forklift License training takes place at the client premises, a forklift should be available for practicals.
