Health and Safety Documents

Implementing and maintaining your own OHS programme takes a lot of work and just as much paperwork. Keeping Health & Safety documents is an important way to keep your workplace Health and safety compliant.

Operating an Angle Grinder

  • Operating an Angle Grinder
An angle grinder, also known as a side grinder or disc grinder, is a handheld power tool used for cutting, grinding and polishing. Before using the tool on a workpiece, let it run for several minutes. Watch for flutter or excessive vibration that might be caused by poor installation or a poorly balanced wheel / blade.
  • Operating a Generator
In electricity generation, a generator is a device that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy for use in an external circuit. To avoid carbon monoxide hazards, always use generators outdoors, away from doors, windows and vents. Never use generators in homes, garages, basements, crawl spaces, or other enclosed or partially enclosed areas, even with ventilation. Test CO alarms often and replace batteries when needed.
  • Operating a Bench Grinder
A bench grinder is a type of benchtop grinding machine used to drive abrasive wheels. Some pre-operational safety checks includes checking workspaces and walkways to ensure that no slip/trip hazards are present. Ensure that all guards and safety shields are in position before starting the grinder. Ensure that the wheels do not touch the work rest and that the gap between wheel and rest is no greater than 3 mm.
  • Pneumatic Equipment
A pneumatic tool, air tool, air-powered tool or pneumatic-powered tool is a type of power tool, driven by compressed air, supplied by an air compressor. Before you use any pneumatic tool, it should be inspected. Pneumatic tools are designed to be used only with clean, dry and regulated compressed air. You should never use any bottled gas such as oxygen or carbon dioxide as a power source for pneumatic tools. Compressed air should never be used to clean a surface or machine and never use compressed air to blow dust or debris off your body or clothing.
