    Generally, a flammable liquid is a combustible liquid that can easily catch fire. However, it is not the liquid itself that burns, but the vapour cloud above the liquid that will burn if the vapour concentration in the air is between the Lower Flammable Limit (LFL) and Upper Flammable Limit (UFL) of the liquid. Flammable liquids can give off large volumes of flammable vapours at room temperature. These vapours, when mixed with air, can ignite, often violently. Spilled flammable liquids can, if not contained, flow a long way to an ignition source, and then flash back to the source of the leak. Spills on clothing can present a serious risk of injury if ignited.

    Stacking and storage is a principal used to stack articles or material on top of one another or onto a shelf. Ensure that the shelves you want to stack on are adequately secured to carry the load and does not create an additional tripping hazard.

    Welding is a fabrication or sculptural process that joins materials, usually metals or thermoplastics, by causing fusion, which is distinct from lower temperature metal-joining techniques such as brazing and soldering, which do not melt the base metal. Do not perform welding tasks unless you have received proper training in the operation and safety aspects of the metal cutting or welding work you are about to perform.
  • Safe Operating Procedure Storage and Handling of Gas Cylinders
    A gas cylinder or tank is a pressure vessel used to store gases at above atmospheric pressure. High-pressure gas cylinders are also called bottles. Cylinders stored inside of buildings must be stored in a well-protected, well ventilated, dry location at least 6,2 metres from highly combustible materials such as oil or excelsior. Cylinders must be stored only in assigned areas and secured to prevent tipping falling.
